The Shrew says: A Great Night Inside My Soap Opera
I had a very nice night yesterday. We lost by three points, but the rest of it was loverly, I guess partly because I was with Matt almost the whole time. When I was sitting with the pep band, he and Bryan came out of nowhere wearing their new creations; hats that made it look like drumsticks were going straight through their heads. I came over to Bryan and Tristan, and Matt soon joined us. We talked for about 15 minutes; Bryan sang this retarded song about how "I can't feel my (pronounced like mah) feet, I can't feel mah toes," then Matt sang "Wonderful Christmastime" simultaneously. Then it was time to go out onto the field for pre-game. It was Senior Recognition Night, too, so after playing our school's fight song I had to run over, find my parents, and walk through the middle of the field with them. Matt later asked if I heard him screaming when they called my name. :). Apparently a lot of people were, but I couldn't really hear anything.
So anyway, after pre-game it was back to the pep band to pump up the crowd or whatever. I stood next to Jorden as usual, teased Jimmy a little bit, and would occasionally look up into the back of the band to see where Matt was. Our eyes met once, I panicked inside, and then asked if I could wear the drum hat. He said yes. I blinked and it was halftime. I walked out with Matt to get lined up and, this is going to sound incredibly stupid, I felt like we were a couple. It felt wonderful. Matt kept appearing out of nowhere, and his eyes seemed to always be on me. We did our halftime show almost perfectly in front of a packed stadium that included my family from Virginia, so that was great too. Then was third quarter break, all of which I spent with Matt. We walked around, making mischief I guess you could say, and just talking. We even took a picture of our band director, Mr. Olesko, suddenly getting attacked by the drum hat. The only thing with that was the fact that I took it with Emily's camera.. She's probably going to kill me.
Fourth quarter was fun too. I just jumped around and screamed and sang and played with a huge group of my friends. Matt was there too, wandering around the general area for some reason, even though he was supposed to be up at the top playing his tenor. We lost, but it was still a blast. Then, when I was walking through the parking lot to the school, guess who appeared and walked with me. :-) It was too fun.
I then went home, Bryan and Tristan picked me up and we all went to Sheetz and met up with this really funny guy named John Sweeney. Tristan and I had Chubby Hubby and it was DIVINE. I highly recommend it. Then I went home, watched my husband on Letterman, and went to bed.
So yeah.. that was my night in a nutshell. I really wish that, if Matt liked me, he would just ask me out.. It would make my soap opera so much easier.
